Polperro Primary Academy has a very strong culture of praise. We believe that children work best when their efforts and achievements have been recognised, which in turn boosts their self-esteem and encourages them to try even harder. We have created a wide range of rewards and means of recognition, tailored to the needs of the different age groups, and we keep a detailed record of the rewards and responsibilities offered to all children to ensure we are doing our best to let every child shine.
Good work and behaviour may be recognised through stickers, notes home and positive comments made verbally or in writing. Each class teacher will have their own special system for their class tailored to their age and interests.
We hold two celebration assemblies each week. Every Wednesday readers, writers and mathematicians of the week from each class are awarded a certificate and given the opportunity to share their success with the school.
On Friday our assembly focuses on our class 'Stars of the Week' who demonstrate kindness, thoughtfulness, politeness or many of the other qualities that we expect children at Polperro School to display.
Whether children set a good example to their friends, demonstrate a mature attitude to learning, or simply always come into school with a smile….we provide opportunities for everyone to shine!
WIN A BIKE!
What’s more, every month, each child with 100% attendance, gets their name entered into the end of year prize draw to win a new bike and safety helmet. So a child with a 100% attendance record in an academic year, gets 11 entries into the prirze draw.
Attending School every day has never been so rewarding and our first prize draw will take place during the final week of School this academic year, with the winner able to choose a bike and safety helmet up to the value of £150.
We are inspired by the awe and wonder of the world.
We are bold and innovative in our approach to find new solutions to the challenges we face.
We are the best we can be.
We take responsibility for our actions in an environment of mutual respect.
We overcome all barriers to reach our potential, developing a capacity to improve further.
We are passionate about learning.
