Recovery Premium

Our use of the Recovery Premium

Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). The Recovery Premium and National Tutoring Programme funding has been provided to support children to catch up lost teaching in the 2023/24 academic year.

As a Trust, we have committed to ensuring all children are supported to achieve as highly as they would have had the pandemic not have taken place. We have identified the priorities for mitigating the impact of the pandemic. To support us in addressing these priorities and making the best use of this funding, we then used the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) guide for schools which identifies evidence-based approaches to help us plan how best to utilise the funding available to us. In the current academic year, our Pupil Premium Strategy details how our recovery premium wil be spent.

As with all government funding, school leaders must be able to account for how this money is being used to achieve the central goal of schools getting back on track and teaching a normal curriculum as quickly as possible. Given their role in ensuring schools spend funding appropriately and in holding schools to account for educational performance, our governors and trustees scrutinise our approaches to catch-up.
